This large-scale film begins in in 1280. This is a story of the legendary Scottish national hero William Wallace, dedicate themselves to fight the British at King Edward Dlinnonogom. He lost his father early, who died at the hands of Englishmen, but his uncle managed to give the boy a good education in Europe. At home, William (Mel Gibson) has already returned adult have dreamed of a family and live a peaceful life. But fate ordered otherwise. His bride killed by British, and he began his crusade for freedom. The film is wonderfully shot a lot of battle scenes. Some may find them too violent, but they are hardly more severe than was the case in reality. Large-scale surveys, stage proportions, beautiful costumes and irresistible Mel Gibson himself at the center - all this helped the film become repeated Prize laureate Oscar.

In 1280 Scotland was not an occupied country - it was ruled by Alexander III, King of Scots. The film 'Braveheart' has a lot to answer for -
'This is most evident in the film 'Braveheart'. Not content with relying on Blind Harry's largely fictitious poem 'The Wallace' as the sole source of material, the writer, Randall Wallace, simply changed the story to suit a script that made no sort of historical sense and has, in fact, deprived Scottish people of part of their history by effectively undermining the factual material...If it is true that a picture paints a thousand words, how damaging is it when the picture is a fantasy?'
