Lady Chatterley, a quintessentially French adaptation of the second (and much less well-known than the final and third) version of D.H. Lawrence's erotic classic Lady Chatterley's Lover. The film was warmly received by French critics and already won the prestigious Louis Delluc prize for Best Artistic Production of the Year there, though foreign audiences might warm less easily to the tale, despite two ace performances from Marina Hands as the title character and Jean-Louis Coulloc'h as her gamekeeper-turned-lover.
