Heres a fix if you are still having problems updating...
Go to;
Vista: C:\ProgramData\ESET\ESET NOD32 Antivirus\updfiles
XP: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\ESET\ESET Smart Security\Updfiles

And delete everything you see in that folder, then update once again. This time you will have no problems downloading from the update servers.
