.:: Fallout 3 Operation Anchorage ::.

 Fallout 3 -- Operation: Anchorage is an action-packed expansion for Fallout 3. Enter a military simulation and fight in one of the greatest battles of the Fallout universe -- the liberation of Anchorage, Alaska from its Chinese Communist invaders. In this DLC pack, the Brotherhood of Steel Outcasts are trying to acquire advanced military tools, and the only way to enter the vault containing these relics is by completing a military simulation only the player can enter. 
In the simulation the player fights in one of the greatest battles of the Fallout universe: the liberation of Anchorage, Alaska from invading Red Chinese troops. The simulation is set between June 2076, when the T-51b Power Armor was first introduced, and January 2077, when Chinese forces were completely driven out of Alaska. The Chinese Red Army is everywhere, and the player first has to secure the surrounding mountain side and then fight their way into the Chinese base. The player has to use a lot of their standard combat skills, along with several new tools that are only available in the DLC. 
These include interactive strike teams under the player’s command as well as unique armor, weapons, and other exotic gadgets. Throughout the simulation various pieces of intel are also hidden, yielding the Covert Ops perk.

.:: Fallout 3 - Broken Steel ::.

 The third DLC for Fallout 3 will add new enemies including Albino Radscorpions, Feral Ghoul Reavers, Super Mutant Overlords and Enclave Hellfire Troopers. These will be equipped with new armor and weaponry which the player can acquire. Broken Steel will also add several new perks to cover the additional 10 levels as well as new encounters.

.:: Story ::.

 Broken Steel alters the ending of the original Fallout 3 to allow continued play after the end of the main quest line. This means that when it is time to go into the reactor at the end of Take it Back!, you can still go in yourself or you can send one of three side characters. However, even if you go yourself, you do not die. Instead, you survive the ordeal and wake up two weeks later at the Citadel. If you allow the Purifier to explode, the game will still end. 
The new content starts about two weeks after the events of Fallout 3's main quest and begins in the vicinity of Project Purity which is now up and running. Regaining consiousness inside the Citadel. The battle between the Brotherhood of Steel and the Enclave is still ongoing. You are then tasked with aiding a Brotherhood of Steel assault on a secret Enclave base located Southwest of the map. The attack does not go according to plan as an Enclave orbital bombardment destroyes Liberty Prime the most powerful weapon in the Brotherhood's arsenal. Tasked by Paladin Tristan to find the origin of the attack, you find only a unreadable code. Returning to the Citadel you must find a component to create the Tesla Cannon, a new, more powerful weapon for the Brotherhood. Once you have retrieved the Tesla Coil needed to create the Tesla Cannon from Olney Powerworks, an old power plant which is secretly a front used to create Tesla based technology, you travel to Adams Air Force Base via the Presidential Metro Line. Upon assaulting the Air Force Base you find a massive  Enclave Crawler. Boarding it, you fight through a number of Enclave soldiers to the center computer terminal. From there you will find several targets which have been primed for attack by orbital bombardment. Choosing the Citadel, you are deemed a traitor by the Brotherhood of Steel and they will attempt to kill you. Choosing the  Crawler you are rescued by Lyons' Pride and are returned to the Citadel to be heralded a hero of the Brotherhood of Steel

* You need to install it before you complete FO3, but the game doesn't allow you to save after the ending anyway (without broken steel). So just load it up and after you travel/sleep a few times a message will come up telling you Broken Steel has been loaded.Make sure if you have the FEV virus in your inventory before pressing the suicide button, that you send Fawkes back to the museum (fire him). Otherwise he disappears for the rest of the game lol...

< - > How do I activate the new quests? I get the message that BS has been loaded, and the EXP grows over 20, but where do I have to go to start the new missions?

Possible solutions to game errors/problems

Problem #1 : Fallout 3 crashing / Fallout 3 crash to desktop (ctd) | Fallout 3 crashing at the start of the game
Solution : (from Bethesda website)

1. Click Start
2. Click “All Programs” (or just Programs, depending on the version of Windows, whether they’re using “classic,” etc.)
3. Go to the ffdshow folder.
4. Click “Audio decoder configuration.”
5. In the left hand pane, click “Info & debug.” This is the second entry in the list.
6. In the right hand pane, near the bottom, find a check box labelled “Don’t use ffdshow in:”
7. Check that box, and in the text box underneath (it lights up when you check the check box), add “fallout3.exe” (don’t include the quotes). If there is already something in that box, put a semi-colon ( ; ) after what’s already there, and fallout3.exe after that. Do NOT use spaces, since ffdshow will think that’s part of the filename. A valid entry would be “explorer.exe;fallout3.exe” (without quotes).
8. Finally, click “Ok” and start Fallout 3.

Problem #2 : Fallout 3 Freezing randomly in the game, sometimes permanently.

Problem #3 : Fallout 3 freezing when taking the goat (PS3)

For the Fallout 3 GOAT freeze workaround: make a save, quit to the main menu and reload the save. The game should resume normally

Problem #4 : Fallout 3 installation errors (PC)
Solution :

Verify your Installation files and make sure they are working fine

Problem #5 : VATS inaccessible. R2 not opening up VATS menu (PS3)
Solution :

The Fallout 3 may not be able to recognize the Dualshock 3 controller (DS3). Disable the DS3 and enable the classic 6-axis controller. Turn them off again and re-enable the Dual Shock 3 and the controls should work properly

 1. Download and extract extension. 
2. *.bsa and *.esm files have to be put in your Fallout 3/Data folder 
[default path: C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Fallout 3\Data] 
3. *.bik files have to be placed in Fallout 3/Data/Video folder 
[default path: C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Fallout 3\Data\Video] 
4. Start game. In menu, click on 'Data Files' and select extensions you want to play. 
5. How to see that extension is, in fact, installed... 

Operation: Anchorage 

The quest objective for Operation: Anchorage will be activated by a radio broadcast stating, "This is Defender Morrill, any Outcasts listening on this frequency report to sector 7-B, Bailey's Crossroads. 
This is a high-priority message, backup is needed at our location. Any personnel listening on this frequency please report at once." A marker will appear on the world map. The DLC can be played at any time after the player exits Vault 101 at the beginning of the game. 

The Pitt 

Player will be informed of a new radio distress signal from a runaway slave called Wernher, who informs the Lone Wanderer that he needs help. 

Broken Steel (install 1.5 patch) 

Player will get popup message stating that Broken Steel has loaded and that level cap now is 30. 
For all of the extensions - it can take up to few min for it to activate.
